Door Guide: Composite Door Security

Will your house be broken into? If so, how to protect your home from break ins?
With long dark nights ahead, security becomes a major concern for our homes. It is well known that when burglars ‘work’ a neighbourhood, one of their main concerns is doing the job quickly and quietly. Stalling on a well-secured door and causing a racket trying to penetrate is probably the last thing on their agenda. Burglars collect information about the neighbourhood prior to the break-in, as part of their attempt to spot the most convenient target.

Exterior doors are the most common entrance portal for burglars and for this reason, they need extra protection. All external doors, including yard doors, should be equally protected. Do not compromise on low-class doors or low-class locking mechanisms for the rear entrances. Make sure that all external doors are evenly secured. Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

With our Palladio Door Collection at Ballymoney Glazing, we offer 2 main types of locking systems- the Heritage slam lock and the Mantis 3 Yale lock.

The Heritage slam lock is a 5-point lock that engages as soon as the door closes, therefore you will need a key to open the door again. With the heritage slam lock, you can choose from the round escutcheon which is paired with one of our pull bar handles, or the finger pull escutcheon.

The Yale lock is our 10-point locking system that comes with our lever or lever pad handle.

No matter which locking system you choose, your peace of mind is guaranteed with us at
Ballymoney Glazing.
